Backward Party
  • Send invitations with the words written backwards
  • Request that the guests wear their clothing backwards
  • Greet the guests with a "good-bye" and end with "hello"
  • Serve the meal backwards, or make it appear so. Make a
meatloaf in the shape of a cake using mash potatoes as icing, and end with ice cream sandwiches.

Progressive Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner
This is a great theme with good friends or neighbors. The party begins at one location and stops at different ones, having a different course at each location. We do this with our neighbors, walking from one house to another. Great fun!
  • Design the invitation as if it were a restaurant menu, listing the courses and where each will be served
  • Decorations should fit the theme, or each location could have its own theme
  • While the progressive meal is entertainment in itself, games, entertainment or activities can be included at each stop.

Western Barbeque Party
  • Make your invitation look like a cowboy boot, a 10-gallon hat or the state of Texas
  • Request that everyone dress Western
  • Decorate the room with bales of hay, branding irons, wagon
wheels, hats, cactus plants. Cover table with red checkered tablecover, bandana-style napkins
  • Use miniature cowboy hats filled with treats and wrapped in
a cello bag for party favors
  • Activities could include a square dance or line dance, a country-western sing-a-long, or a lasso contest
  • Serve barbequed hamburgers, steaks, ribs and/or chicken with grilled potatoes, corn on the cob and plenty of apple pie and watermelon for dessert
